Charming atmosphere and excellent views

I recently enjoyed a lovely stay at this historic coaching inn, where the charm of the building combined wonderfully with the warm hospitality of the staff. The food was exceptional, especially the generous portions at dinner, and the views of the surrounding landscape are truly breathtaking. the comfy beds in our recently refurbished room made for delightful evenings after long hikes. it would be great if they could improve on the variety in the wine selection.

Charming inn, delightful restaurant, with a great selection of amazing food and free Wi-Fi in the cozy double room where we enjoyed a relaxing night after a day of hiking nearby.

The taps for the bath were a bit stiff to turn on and off.

Request for additional towels and toiletries beforehand, as they may not automatically replenish during your stay. It's a practical way to enhance comfort.

Charming decor complemented our stay, but the bathroom was too small for comfort.

We stopped by without plans and found a cozy spot with fantastic food that blew us away, especially the scampi basket and the Greek salad. There’s a lovely garden area to unwind in and a vibrant pub atmosphere for a fun evening. Just be aware, the noise can carry from the bar at times, but it didn’t spoil our experience at all. 😊

Had a blast with friends! We explored Keswick and hiked Helvellyn. The staff were super friendly, and the place was cozy with great views. Enjoyed relaxing in the lounge and playing darts. Definitely a good spot for hiking trips and great food choices.

It was just an optimal selection for a fleeting trip in Thirlmere with good value for cost. The residents lounge was cosy with a lovely log burner, perfect for relaxing after a day out. Consider keeping the window closed if noise is a concern.
